Midwest Introduction To The New Standard Tuning II

During this weekend the New Standard Tuning will be introduced along with basic techniques commonly used in Guitar Craft. The weekend is open to anyone 18 years or older who wishes to attend. As a follow up to last year’s course in Dixon, this course is for beginning guitarists as well as for players of all levels, including those with prior experience in Guitar Craft who feel the need to continue their work or to reconnect.

The focus will be on fundamental principles in the use of both hands, coordination, and the direction of attention. Work is done on steel-string acoustic guitars, using a pick. The weekend will be directed by Curt Golden, who has been a part of Guitar Craft since its inception, and a Guitar Craft Instructor since 1986. Sandra Bain Cushman is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and will present an introduction to the Technique as a means of developing attention and presence in the body.

The Seminar will be held at a facility near Willard, Wisconsin, approximately 313 miles from Chicago, 239 miles from Milwaukee,169 miles from Madison and 148 miles from Minneapolis. The course will begin with supper Thursday evening and complete around lunch time Sunday afternoon.

The fee for the weekend will be $350, which covers tuition, room and board.
