The Mechanics of Performance/League of Crafty Guitarists Mendoza, ArgentinaWednesday 3rd to Friday 19th of September, 2003Hernan Nuñez Convento Nuestra Señora del Amén This Project is addressed to those who have gained prior experience in Guitar Craft Courses and in Guitar Craft related projects, and who wish to improve their skills and experience in Performance. It will provide the opportunity to work on Calisthenics, the preparation of Repertoire and Rehearsals in the supportive and challenging environment of a formal Course. There will be, as much as possible, a "One-Group" concept: although not all will be able to play in The League of Crafty Guitarists, everyone will be actively involved in the preparation of the performances, with and without guitars. This includes: rehearsals, support, road and stage management, merchandising, sound and recording engineering, etc. We will work as one team (performers and non-performers), from our first rehearsal to the completion of our last show.
Toward the end of the two weeks, performances will be played mainly in Mendoza and the Mendoza area. Participation in these performances can be either playing in the League or supporting the League (roles on the road; opening act etc.). The Fusari Dance Company, directed by the acclaimed modern dance teacher Valentina Fusari, will be joining the LCG performances during several pieces.
All Participants will be asked, and given the opportunity, to contribute with House and Kitchen Work. Our first challenge will be to host the new team (Introduction to GC).
The Mechanics of Performance / The League of Crafty Guitarists projects will be guided and directed by Hernán Nunez assisted by a team of experienced crafties.
